Enjoying city life.

Sometimes I still feel as if I'm on holiday...even though we have now been here years!

The city is still 'the big place', and I still marvel at the variety of activities and entertainment that we can access.

So this weekend my girl and I joined some good friends and went to the theatre to see the classic feel good show - Annie.

The movie has been watched countless times so the story and the songs were pretty familiar. It was pure musical theatre. There was even a live Sandy the dog who thrilled the young audience when he came on stage and also after the performance when he made an impromptu appearance as we were leaving the theatre. A true star!

Anyhow, when we were leaving the theatre around 6pm the city was alight and the reflections on the water looked quite stunning. Sibs and I travelled back to our bed for the night via the City Cat up the river....
Did I mention that we were treated to a night in a hotel? (Thank you Neil for organising that)

Brisbane River and the Story Bridge by night

"if I had binoculars I think I could see our house!"

Now what's the best thing about staying in a hotel?
The breakfast of course!

I have always said that if I win the lottery I would employ a chef just to make hotel breakfasts every morning!I don't think I would need to eat much more for the rest of the day. Love them!

I was told off by my nine year old for taking photos at the table and being "embarrassing"! So I had to sneak a couple on my phone .
I was feeling a tiny bit guilty and indulgent with my pastries and coffee whilst everyone that went past on the river walkway was either on a bike or jogging....but it didn't last for long and I managed seconds!

So it was a pretty good long weekend with a very early tuck in for a tired Sibs.

It's going to be a big week...
We're talking BIG!  It's school fete next weekend.

  1. Hotel breakfasts are the best and I like your idea of hiring a breakfast chef to concoct special treats. Just got to win the lottery haven't we!
Good luck with the school fete.
