This last week has been a sad one in my local community. A young mother with a child at the same school as my daughter suddenly passed away. It's been tragic and shocking. There is a sense of disbelief.
Yesterday, I looked after a friend's four year old and we did some crafts together. She wanted to do something to make her bedroom look prettier. So, we found some old Better Homes and Gardens magazines and she picked out flowers...loads and loads of flowers. I cut them out and she glued and made a collage for her bedroom wall.
I thought about the young mother....
...and vowed to make the most of each day.

A terrible reminder that life is too short. I bet the child you looked after had lots of fun making the collage with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragedy. I really wonder why these things happen to people. My thoughts go out to the family.
ReplyDeleteThe collage you made is absolutely beautiful.
Oh, Beth, how terrible. But what a gorgeous collage you created - that little girl will treasure it. Sending you a Hobart ♥ J x
ReplyDeleteIt is a cruel world and we never know what is waiting for us around the next corner.
ReplyDeleteSunning collage. Take Care x
You are so right, we are not guaranteed to life to be over 80...
ReplyDeleteI really love the collage, a fun thing to do with my girls.
Take care,
Maureen
God this post made me sad. Always good to remind ourselves to get on with it and live in the moment, and my problems are actually good problems to have, in the big scheme of things.
ReplyDeleteLovely collage - that type of thing is very popular in this house!! :)

How very sad Beth, life is for living. Your flower collage is lovely, just the thing to lift the spirits. Thankyou for your birthday message. Isnt it a small small world I used to live in Skipton. It is a really lovely Spring day here today, so I'm off to spring-clean the garage -yuk! Have a great week, love Linda x
ReplyDeleteHow terribly sad. It is one of the things I fear the most, my children being without me. It's unthinkable. I hope the community rallies around her husband and her little one. Rachaelxx
ReplyDeleteLife can do that.
ReplyDeleteKnock you sideways.
So important to
treasure each day....

ReplyDeleteGreat reminder, and so tragic. Every parent's nightmare. But really beautiful collage - good to keep the hands and mind busy so not to be swallowed by the sadness. XOL
